Places that I would visit in China

This hub is an answer to melina1987 request: "Which place would attract you if you visited China ?". As I never went to China, you can be sure that this hub will be full of chlichés, however I will try to limit them to this first capsule. Here we go:

• The Great Wall - Seems unavoidable
• The Tian'anmen square - Because history has been written there
• The Imperial City in Beijing - Is it even possible to visit it ?
• At least one typical temple

China is a gigantinc country, and limiting it to Beijing and Shanghai seems non-sense. However I don't know how easy it is as a tourist to get out of the main cities without a guide.

Taking a look at countryside and "normal people" is always a good way to learn about a country - as long as you can establish at least a minimal dialogue with the inhabitants.

Melina, if you made this request to know what to offer to potential visitors via a hub, I guess you should organize it according to what YOU think is interesant for visitors.

If someone asked me the same for Switzerland, I would certainly offer basic stuff anyone can expect (Jungfraujoch, Watch valley, Geneva fountain, one couple of cheese factories), but then I would add much more, and particularly things that are less known, like the pink flamingos in Geneva, the old town of Bern, or the lake of Brienz.
